What is SMART Recovery?
SMART is a national non-profit organization that promotes self-empowering recovery from any addictive behavior through free mutual support group meetings and creating partnerships with progressive community organizations and treatment professionals. Our meetings and programs are MAT-friendly and stigma-free.
What is the Multiple Pathways Partner Program?
The Multiple Pathways Partner Program allows community organizations, behavioral health professionals, and treatment facilities to showcase their support for multiple pathways to recovery and SMART Recovery. Visitors to your site who click through to ours will be directed to this page where they can learn more about SMART and the other mutual support pathways, as well as what they can expect when interacting with a partner.
Who makes an ideal partner?
Anyone committed to transforming the recovery landscape by promoting multiple pathways to recovery can participate. Our pathway is compatible with whatever you are already offering at your facility. We partner with treatment centers, recovery residences, RCOs, non-profit organizations, and individual practitioners.
Why would I choose to participate?
We’ve collectively been talking about multiple pathways to recovery for a while now. It’s time to work together to make the promise of multiple pathways a reality for your clients and all who are seeking a balanced and purposeful life beyond addictive behaviors. Research has indicated that as many as 30% of SMART Recovery participants also participate in 12-step fellowships.
How do I participate?

Do I have to participate in the program to use SMART Recovery?
Any trained facilitator can run SMART Recovery meetings, and we encourage the use of SMART tools and techniques with your clients. However, the use of the SMART logo and branding are reserved for participants in our Partner Program.
